About Us

Welcome to the Moorenicestore! We’re not selling ice, mice, dice, rice or spice. We’re selling nice. Shall I say it twice? Heck, I’ll say it thrice! We’re selling nice!!! We’re selling nice!!! What’s the price? This isn’t Costco’s or Sam’s Club. Membership to Club Nice is free.

Our goal is to put more kindness into the world. Our dream is to gather one billion acts of kindness faster than it took McDonald’s to sell a billion hamburgers. Not for competition. Not for recognition. But to prove something beautiful-kindness is everywhere. And it grows when we notice it.

This kindness crusade started with a journey close to my heart. My dad passed away in 2020. I was moved to write a book about him. He was a humble man-humble beginnings, humble surroundings, humble in actions. He did what he could on a consistent basis to make his corner of the world better. Others learned from him. And then it struck me-others can still learn from him.

I see my dad as a quiet hero. Not a hero in the traditional sense (I grew up idolizing Walt Disney, thinking I may be an animator some day), not an everyday hero (like first responders, teachers, firemen, doctors, nurses and others),but a quiet hero who consistently and intentionally did what he could to bring joy to others.

Our world can be disheartening. Mass shootings, divisiveness, rude behavior, scams, bullying, abuse of all types. It can feel hopeless and overwhelming.

But I believe ordinary nice people like my dad have the power to make a meaningful difference. We can’t all be heroes. We don’t all work in an everyday hero role. But we all have the capacity to be quiet heroes.

It’s time for quiet heroes to up our collective “nice” game. An army of quiet heroes dedicated to increasing the size of the army and the kindness actions of the army can change the current course of the world. And that is what ENOUGH! Quiet Heroes Unite to Change the World, One Kind Act at a Time is all about. It’s a book that hopefully uses my dad’s quiet legacy to inspire quiet heroes everywhere.

I am retired after a 40-year career in banking. Besides the usual fun retirement activities, I also enjoy occasional substitute teaching at a local elementary school, and taking my pup on therapy dog visits to nursing homes. And, though it has taken a few years to bring this book to life, the time spent in retirement doing so has been both fun and a learning experience. Although I didn’t quite make the sentimental date of my dad’s birthdate (8/23), the book and corresponding website were launched in October, 2026.

I hope you will give the book a look. I hope you like it and encourage others to give it a try. I hope you enjoy being part of the billion acts of kindness tracker. I hope we’ll find out together that quiet heroes working together on a focused effort to raise the level of kindness to the magnitude of an atomic bomb of kindness can change the world. Be a quiet hero.

Be nice. Do nice. Share nice. MooreNice. We can do it!

P.S. My dad had a small grocery store, a joy of gardening and an affinity for the word “terrific,” so those items on the MooreNice storefront are a nod to him.
